“Drowning Sorrows”

At the beautiful, mysterious –- and legendarily haunted -- Lost Lake, the gray-as-slate storm clouds continued to darken and deepen over the lake’s rippling, obsidian surface. The day had gone from unseasonably bright and sunny, through dull and dismal, and on to chilly and dreary. As the rain began to drizzle down, lake-goers flocked to the ski lodge at the water’s edge to get dry and warm back up.

Rena returned from the lounge restroom, joining Jean sitting at the bar. The lounge at The Lodge at Lost Lake catered to all ages and had established itself as a more “low key” alternative for teens to hang out at than the teen clubs in neighboring New Amstead.
