Later that night, Alice returned back to the dorm feeling a little unsteady with the abundance of champagne she’d drunk. Automatically, she pulled on her nightgown, climbed into bed, and then pulled the blanket over her ready to sleep, but as soon as she closed her eyes, she heard a strange noise, as if someone were knocking on her window with astonishing persistence.

She didn’t want to get up. It was warm and cozy under the blanket, and her eyes were closing, but the troublemaker wasn’t going to relent.

Alice reluctantly climbed out of bed and threw a robe over her shoulders. She wandered over to the window and saw a bird holding a bundle tied with a purple ribbon in its claws. On closer inspection, she recognized it as an L-object. There wasn’t anything she could do − she’d have to let it in.

Dropping the mysterious bundle at her feet, the bird immediately turned into a pile of ashes.

"I'll have to wash the floor in the morning," Alice thought, and began to unwrap the gift from the unknown sender.

The item sobered her up at once, and her heart began to pound like a runner who’d just completed a long-distance marathon.

Alice held a transparent box in her hands. Glittering a luminous blue, it was the legendary diamond - the Aqualin, and one of its facets was stained red − the color of blood.
