Introduce

Introduce the exercise – chest press

Name the muscles and purpose – strengthens the muscles of the chest, front shoulder and back of the upper arm – the pectorals, anterior deltoid and triceps.

Demonstrate

Show the exercise – using a front and side demo and encourage the individuals to move around and observe from different angles.

Explain

While demonstrating, point out and explain the key technical points – the position of the spine, how to hold and position the bar, the alignment of the moving joints, the speed of the movement, the breathing pattern etc.
