NOVEMBER LEAH

Dear Diary,

This will be short, I’m too tired and, even after a full night’s sleep, it’s hard to think straight. I feel as if the hounds of hell are snapping at my heels. I can’t make sense of the happenings; it’s one thing after another.

I’m rather relieved Bill isn’t here. I’m not sure what he would make of it all and, if he had any sense, he’d stay a million miles away and I wouldn’t blame him. I’m glad he’s there for his daughter. Divorce can be hell, like a living death. Which reminds me, I must chase up those papers. I can’t believe the post can be that slow. The sooner I’m officially parted from Mason the better.

I’m not sure how I can ever repay Deidre for the comfort and help she has given me. She’s one in a million. I shall make a list of things to do; I can’t keep a thought in my head for longer than two minutes these days. It’s December soon, and that means Christmas and presents and house decorations, that’s if we are still here to celebrate it. I can sense a heavy atmosphere, as though the air itself is threatening.

I know one thing. I’m going to fight this time. No more gentle, placid, accept everything Leah. I’ve grown tough and, if necessary, I’ll fight to protect Belinda, Deidre, and myself. This, is a brand new Leah Brand.
