In really looking at all my stuff accumulation through my various life phases, interests, and businesses, I realize just how much of it I don’t use or even want any more.

Everyone goes through phases. Likes and dislikes change with the decades. If only my tastes hadn’t changed so widely, I could have saved tens of thousands of dollars. But that is what the fashion designers and consumer society literally bank on.

Once I recognized the extent of my personal overload of obsolete (to me) stuff, I began to systematically eliminate things from my living spaces. I began by finding new homes for things that my changing taste and current aesthetics had made obsolete for my needs, yet had intrinsic value someone else would appreciate.
