Ash laughed and got into his car. He got on his way quickly. Turning on his radio, he popped in a CD, then hummed along with Roarke’s latest hit. Half an hour later, he pulled into his parking space. Exiting the car, he strode towards the building. The two buildings joined by archways were perfect for James Corporation and Enigma. Going inside, he nodded to the guard at the desk.

“Morning, Alistair.”

“Morning, Garcia. How’s Jennie doing?” he asked, pausing by the desk.

“Any day now, she’ll have her babies.”

“Good. Let me know how it goes,” Ash said, continuing on.

“I will.”

He went to the private elevator that went only to his floor. It opened as he reached it.

Ash chuckled as Arnold held the door. He got in next to him.

“Is there a reason you’re meeting me almost at the door?” Ash asked.

“Got the info on the alarm systems for Vaughn Choppers and the house. Emailed them to you. And I need to walk you through the security on the floor they gave you.”

Ash nodded. “I’ll show them to Kincaid and let you know.”

“Is this Kincaid the reason I can hang up my travelling shoes?” Arnold asked.

“Yep.” Ash chuckled.

Arnold was a good friend as well as his personal bodyguard. He usually went with him when he travelled or made public appearances. Ash made a mental note to introduce Kincaid to him. Arnold punched a code on the elevator’s panel, and it rose silently. The elevator doors slid open. Striding out, Ash stopped at the guard desk, while Arnold went through the security features there.

“Add Kincaid onto the list of those with unlimited access to the floor.”

“We’ll need his fingerprints scanned.”

“I’ll let him know,” Ash said.

He walked down the hall, looking through the open office doors next to his. He waved at his people, who usually travelled with him wherever he went. He had told them three months ago that when they were done wrapping up the parts of their itinerary that couldn’t be changed, they would be settling down in Hollisville. They had all been for it. He was relieved that none of his personal staff had minded coming back with him. He didn’t want to A TENDER ROUGHNESS
