Anon: My husband has always been very enthusiastic about taking our daughter to Saturday morning swimming classes. He’s suggested I use the time to go do some exercise myself, but I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to either sleep in or just potter at home. This morning I did attend for the first time and found one of the mothers, Gabrielle, does the class in a Brazilian high cut swimsuit. Let’s just say, eleven months after birth she doesn’t look like I do and I really didn’t enjoy the way my husband looked at her. I’m second guessing everything now: why he wants to go so much, what happened to my body, what I can do to get the spark back, or even feel IN my body. Would you insist you go to the class instead? Swap the classes they are enrolled in? Let it go? Am I overthinking this?

Holly Gooden: Oh love. I bet the only body he is looking at is the gorgeous little thing the two of you created. Don’t worry so much. NB, there’s a great Saturday morning post-natal pilates class I go to, if after a lie in you fancy some gentle exercise in a supportive group.

Simone Parkinson: Never underestimate what having a child can do to a marriage. I would invest the time in yourself like he’s suggested. It doesn’t have to be exercise. You deserve some time just for you. If you’re in a good place then you won’t have to worry about anything else.

Anna Taylor: Respectfully, that is bullshit. If you smell a rat, often there’s a rodent in the house. My ex was. I’d be putting $100 of grocery money away in a secret account each week if I was you, just in case. Rent for duplexes on the Beaches is brutal these days.

Yvonne Ng: Ha. @GabrielleThompkins, is that you and Tianna bouncing away? Sounds like those barre classes are really paying off.
