Chapter Two

Mason

Mason looked out over the flat pastureland on either side of Interstate 35, graced with thick grasses and mesquite trees, the occasional thorny shrub and cactus thrown in. It felt good to be on his bike. But this sure as hell wasn’t the Hill Country. No wonder bikers seldom came this way.

He wondered if Mexico would be as uninteresting.

It didn’t matter. He wasn’t here to enjoy the scenery. He and good-boy Josh were on this ride to make sure Daddy’s little darling didn’t get her ass robbed or killed.

He could hardly believe it when his phone rang this morning. He’d been standing in front of the closet, angsting over what to wear on his upcoming date with smokin’ hot Paco Morales, who he’d been lusting after for months. He couldn’t put his finger on what made Paco so appealing. He just knew he had to get a taste of the man and fuck his brains out at least once to get him out of his system.

He’d tried every move he knew to get Paco’s attention. Last week he’d finally succeeded. They’d had a couple of drinks and made a date for tomorrow night. A date that would’ve lasted until morning and probably extended well into the next day.

Then the colonel called with new orders.

Fuck the general’s daughter’s ink-covered ass.

They came up on a turn, and he leaned into the curve, catching a glance of the Road King so like his own and the rider straddling it. Talk about a jerkwad of an interfering asshole. Mason’s face still burned when he thought of the time Josh had taken it upon himself to sit across from Mason to warn him about Paco.

“He’s a man-whore who’s gone through soldiers like a fish through water. You’re gonna want to steer clear of him.”

Mason had been warned about Paco before and normally took the warnings in stride, but Josh had put his back up. He’d told Josh to fuck off.

He knew Paco had a short shelf life. He didn’t care. He wasn’t about to fall in love. He wanted to scratch an itch.

He wanted to fuck Paco a few times and get him out of his system.

Everyone knew Paco had demons. Lots of them. Mason wanted no part of something deep with a man with that much baggage.

Hell, he didn’t want anything deep with anybody. He wanted to keep it light. And when the newness wore off, he’d move on to the next enjoyable time.

Too bad Josh took everything so seriously. He might’ve been the next fun time in Mason’s life. Plenty of sex appeal in a small package. Short, but what Josh lacked in height he more than made up for with a muscular body. Broad shoulders, and a terrific six-pack and ass. All in all, a mouthwatering package.

After catching all that was Josh, Mason’s cock had hardened so badly in the gym shower, he’d had to turn around and face the wall rather than give himself away to the hetero men in the locker room.
