CHAPTER THIRTEEN
Gina had never been so moved or so turned on in her entire life. Bryce had scared her when he pounded on her door, demanding to be let in. Heâd stormed into her house with rage in his eyes. He was angry. At her, at the world. While she never thought for a moment he would hurt her, she was scared because she saw how much sheâd hurt him.
Sheâd insulted him by not believing in him, by not confiding in him. Theyâd only been seeing each other for a few weeks, but they had a strong connection. Stronger than anything sheâd ever felt before.
And she trusted him. Wholeheartedly trusted him. Only her actions showed otherwise. Sheâd been afraid to look into his eyes, to see the disgust. Instead, she kept her head bowed and read his thoughts through his touch. He was gentle, passionate, curious. And loving. So, so loving.
With his words, with his kisses, with his hands. Heâd flinched when he first saw her back. It had only lasted a fraction of a second, and Gina had nearly pushed him away, but she clutched on to him instead, praying he wouldnât be repulsed by her.
Never had she felt more loved. More cherished. She was standing naked and vulnerable in the middle of her living room, and Bryce was fully clothed, and fully aroused. It could have been a visceral reaction; he was a guy. She was a naked woman. Theyâd had sex before. Getting hard was a normal reaction.
When she looked into his clear, gray eyes, she knew. She knew he cared for her. Maybe more than cared for her. He spoke sweet nothings, turning her insides into a melted puddle of emotions.
She lifted her arms around his shoulders and practically begged. âMake love to me.â Gina watched as Bryceâs Adamâs apple bobbed. He swallowed, took a few calming breaths, all the time keeping those beautiful eyes locked on hers.
He cupped her cheeks in his palms, and for the first time since her accident, she didnât flinch from touch so close to her neck. âThereâs nothing I want more, sweetheart.â He trailed his hands down both sides of her neck and across both shoulders. Then in one swift, romantic move, he picked her up in his arms cradling her like precious cargo.
âYouâre literally sweeping me off my feet.â She snaked her arms around his neck and drew his mouth to hers, kissing him while he carried her back to her bedroom.
Gently, he placed her on the center of the bed, and rested one knee next to her hip. âIâve been imagining you like this, naked, sprawled out on a bed, for weeks. Itâs not what I imagined.â
Gina frowned, and started to inch away but Bryce straddled her, trapping her with his body.
He hovered over her, the intensity of his gaze boring into her. âI had no idea a human being could be so beautiful. So breathtaking. Iâve seen plenty of naked women before and none can compare to you.
