I finally got a minute at work and I checked my calls and messages. I laughed as I listened to my daughter’s teacher call me about being late to pick her up. I knew Jameeka ass was going to forget. My baby girl was all-good now she said in the next message. I had a few from Quameer so I called him back first. He answered on the third ring.

“Yo, Layla where you at?” he got straight to the point.

“Working, where else would I be?” I had a little attitude.

“Oh Aight. I’m coming by the house later so we can talk,” he demanded

“I don’t think so, I’m tired and I don’t need to be arguing,” I sighed. I heard him go in another room and close the door behind him, his voice got a little lower as he spoke.

“Layla why you acting like this? Baby tell me what’s up.”

“You are what’s up. I’m tired of playing second so come over decent hours when your daughter is home. If she isn’t home or if she is sleep don’t bother coming over to my house. Congratulations by the way,” I replied and ended the call.
