Chapter Thirteen
Rakeem had been planning on branching off on his own for a while now, and this situation just sped up the process. He wanted to put Truth and I.E. out of business permanently. He had plans on telling them that he wanted to start buying more product from them for his own operation, but now he said, âfuck them.â He figured heâd be able to convince some of Truth and I.E.âs fellas to get down with him. He stood on High and Spruce street and vented about the two best friends. Rakeem didnât care that he was on Truth and I.E.âs main block.
âYo fuck them niggas! Yâall know they donât be treating everybody right! See thatâs why we all need to stop fuckinâ with them and start getting our own money. I know thatâs what Iâm about to do,â Rakeem ranted to the guys on the block with him.
âWhat the fuck you over here saying, Rah?â O.G. said interrupting Rakeemâs rant on his approach. âYou better get your ass out of here with that bullshit, disrespecting my mans. Knowing good and well you wouldnât be saying that shit if either one of them was standing out here. And you not going to be saying that shit while Iâm out here neither,â he said defending his best friends. Rakeem mustâve lost his mind if he thought O.G. was going to let him get away with the things he was saying.
âNigga please! You only saying that because Iâm sure they not cutting your shit! If you wasnât they man youâd be feeling the same way!â
âYou ainât getting money, Rah?! Yâall niggas ainât getting money?! Every nigga on this team getting money, even the little niggas! My mans make sure of that. Like I said you better get the fuck on from down here with that shit.â O.G. used his middle finger to poke Rakeem in the middle of his forehead.
âMan, fuck your mans!â Rakeem spat as he slapped O.G.âs hand away.
âNo nigga fuck you,â O.G. retorted before hitting Rakeem dead in the face with a left hook causing him to fall to the ground. He didnât knock Rakeem out, but he was definitely woozy.
Anybody that was on High and Spruce street was considered to be I.E. and Truthâs friend. O.G. couldnât believe that Rakeem had had the balls to stand on that block, of all blocks, and bad mouth Truth and I.E., especially right in front of him none the less.
The guys on the block stood back and let O.G. and Rakeem fight out their disagreement. They figured that they were all friends so there was no need to get involved, other than to break it up after a few minutes.
O.G. slammed Rakeem against the concrete each time that he tried to get back up. He wanted Rakeem to say he gave up.
âTake that with your bitch ass,â O.G. taunted each time. Finally, Tramain, who was Rakeemâs best friend, broke up the fight. He hustled on Truth and I.E.âs block every day.
