MARTIN WAS deeply immersed in the security details for a customer’s new home. One of his employees had put the system together, and Martin knew the man to be reliable and highly efficient. Nevertheless he, as well as Olivia and one other member of their team, would go over it. It always paid to have additional pairs of eyes on a project. Even Martin and Olivia themselves put their designs to the test. The clients of M&O Security paid hefty sums and could expect the best. There was no room for overinflated egos in the company. Clive had done a good job, though. Martin wasn’t able to find a single hole in the tight security net. The customer would be satisfied.

A knock on the door had Martin looking up. Curtis Morris stood in the doorway, a faint smile on his full lips.

“I’m sorry to be rude, but you’ve been so immersed in your work, you didn’t hear me when I politely cleared my throat.”

Martin got up from behind his desk to greet Curtis. Though already in his forties, the man was still a stunning sight. About six feet, a little on the plump side, with full, dark brown hair peppered with a few strands of gray, friendly blue eyes surrounded by some wrinkles, and the most gorgeous lips, Curtis did turn heads. It was a shame he hadn’t been able to find a new master after his relationship of twelve years with an older Dom broke when the man suddenly decided he preferred barely legal twinks. It had broken Curtis’s heart to lose that asshole, but thankfully the man had returned to England and was out of their sight now. Martin was the first to admit Curtis wasn’t your average sub. He came from English nobility, not high enough on the food chain to be on speaking terms with the queen, but still rich and influential enough to send Curtis to the best schools on both sides of the Atlantic. Curtis owned several art galleries all over the world and was one of the biggest players in the art business. He was also a customer of Martin and a member of Whisper. His refined manners and wealthy background intimidated many of the Doms who liked their subs less self-sustaining and confident. Martin was the first to admit he was one of those Doms, though he had played with Curtis a few times. The man was stunning in his submission, and if there had been the remotest chance they would click, he would have given it a try. Unfortunately it turned out they were better off as friends. Still, sometimes Martin wondered what life with Curtis would have been like.

They shook hands, and Martin was about to welcome Curtis into his office when Curtis’s eyes suddenly homed in on the wall behind Martin’s desk. Or, more precisely, at the picture on the wall. With surprising strength, Curtis shoved Martin aside and hurried over to the picture, his jaw slack, eyes wide with wonder.
