Larn had driven Chloe and Sensi to some shops to buy clothing before they went into the clinic. He winced when they came out with bags and bundles to stow in the car before hitting another shop. Yes, this was why he'd slaved for his credits. Sensi seemed to be on a mission. She was also buying for herself and Sapphire. She had joked to Chloe about Gwum making a comment about his mate dressing him, so she kept her hands away from his questionable wardrobe. The man didn't even wear a shirt half the time. She'd also mentioned that it was her first time shopping with no child with her.
Larn ran into several beings he knew and caught up with them, pointing out his mate was shopping. They'd all joked about his finding a mate. He realized he was on everyone's list of least likely candidates to ever find anyone to accept them. He put off all invitations saying that he was taking his brother and his brother's mate to Olyg to visit her family. They all smiled.
There was most likely not one single Glyxon who wasn't aware of who and what Sensi was, and yet, no one voiced any hatred or dislike or any sort of racial bias. No, the Lyxosians had inculcated that they had been enemies, hated by the Glyxon.
If anything, his race of beings had been completely confused by the hatred of the Lyxosians they had spent millennia protecting as they couldn't even defend themselves. That was a huge reason Larn had been so infuriated by Chloe's cowardly abductor. It was easy to beat a restrained being, quite another thing to have to try to defend yourself against them when they'd had enough of the mistreatment. The Glyxon could not bring themselves to fight the Lyxosians, so they had quietly made their way to a world where they could live and would not have to be treated by the fellow beings on their world as second class or less than.
It was a testament to his race that they held nothing against Sensi, and she loved them in return.
A man came out of a store loaded down with packages and he grinned seeing the man spending credits on his mate.
"I've been told to give these to you to store," the young Glyxon told him, and that grin disappeared.
What the hell was Sensi up to?
After securing his mate's packages he grabbed his comm unit and looked at his credits. Not one less than when he'd checked before heâd left his brother's home. He secured his transport and marched into the store his mate had disappeared into.
"Sensi!" He began and then he turned his head when he heard Chloe call out to Sensi as well.
All the gods and the Selusian nine rings. Some kind of way he'd pleased his gods. Very well.
Chloe twirled in a gown of rose that floated around her. His mouth dropped open and went completely dry.
He wanted her then and there.
"Calm yourself," Sensi said, laying her hand on his arm to keep him from going to his mate.
