“Ellie, go back to the coffee shop.” Adrian couldn’t wait to put his fist in Marc’s face. He’d been wanting to do it since the day they’d met.

“Okay but only if you come with me. Please.”

“After the fight.” He continued walking.

“Damn it.” She raced to keep up with him, grabbing his sleeve.

“Ellie, I’m doing this.” He shook her hand free from his arm.

“You are such an ass.”

That stopped him. He spun toward her. “Me? I’m the ass?”

“Yes.” She slapped his arm. “I knew something like this was going to happen when I saw you come into the coffee shop.”

“You saw me come...You were hiding from me?” That hurt worse than any punch he was going to get from Marc.

“Yes, but only because...”

He turned and walked away. He was such a fool. He was going to beat the shit out of some guy for a woman who wanted nothing to do with him.

“Adrian, please wait.” She hurried after him.

He walked faster. “Go away, Ellie and don’t worry I won’t bother you again.”

“That’s not...Please, let me explain.”

Mitch’s car pulled up to the curb.

“Did you bring my gym bag?” he asked as he hopped into the car.

“Yep. What’s going on?”

“I’m going to beat the shit out of some asshole.” He closed the door.

“Adrian, wait!” Ellie yelled as she hurried toward them.

“Who’s that?” asked Mitch.

“Ellie.”

“Should I wait?”

“Nope. Drive.”
