The three exhausted Glitter Dragon Girls broke the water’s surface, gasping as they pulled themselves onto the riverbank.

“That was intense!” spluttered Naomi. “Willa, I have no idea how you managed to save us.”

“Neither do I,” said Azmina, taking great gulps of air. “You’re incredible!”

But Willa couldn’t join the conversation. She still had a mouthful of water! Very carefully, she opened her mouth and let out the water. A silver teardrop fell onto the grass.

Willa quickly scooped it up and put it into the magic apple. The sea-donkey tear sank into the potion and disappeared. She frowned. Nothing seemed to have happened. Maybe they needed more than one tear?

But then the potion began to roil and splutter. Willa clamped the apple’s lid back on to stop the potion from spilling over. One tear was definitely enough!
