Chapter 3

It had been nearly two weeks since all of the ladies had seen each other. For Chateau it seemed like an eternity. They were her close friends, hell, they were her only friends and she couldn’t see her life without them. Chateau knew that this Sunday the husbands were attending a coach’s clinic, so she planned to have the ladies over for brunch. She loved having gatherings at her home, she was quite the hostess. She sent everyone a text inviting them and their kids over. She figured while the ladies talked and enjoyed themselves, the small kids could go to the game room and the older kids could hang out in the pool. There was definitely an advantage to living in Florida; it was almost always perfect weather to hang out by the pool.

Everyone accepted her invitation and Chateau busied herself getting prepared. She had a timetable and she needed to maintain it. She also knew the ladies would respect her time and show up as planned. Chateau woke up on Sunday morning when she felt Orlando get out of bed. She turned and looked up at him with a smile.

“Good morning baby.” She softly said and she stretched.

“Morning Love, how did you sleep? Orlando asked his wife as he leaned down for a kiss.

“I slept okay. I’ll probably lay here for another thirty minutes before I have to get up a get everything ready for the ladies to come over,” she replied in between soft kisses with her husband.

“You have plenty of time Chateau, you already have everything set. Stop worrying, it will be fine.” Orlando tried pacifying his beautiful wife.

“I’ll see baby, but there’s still a lot to do.” Chateau smiled as she kissed Orlando.

She watched as her husband walked in to bathroom to shower. She loved him so much. He was her everything. She couldn’t have asked for anything more in a man. He loved her and their daughter Chantal and he was a great mentor to all the young men he coached. She couldn’t figure out how she had gotten so lucky to find a man like him. She thought back to the day she met him.

Chateau walked around the campus of Florida A&M University trying to find her way to her calculus class. She looked like a helpless freshman. She wondered aimlessly trying to figure out which building she needed to go into.

“Excuse me, but you look a little lost. Can I point you toward something?” A sexy male voice asked.

She looked up, ready to blow off whoever this guy was, but when her eyes met his, her heart fluttered. What she saw was the most handsome man she had ever laid eyes on. He stood 6’5 and his muscular, dark chocolate frame looked as if it contained no body fat. He was bald and sported a crooked smile that was outlined by the most perfect goatee she’d ever seen in her life.

“Uhh, yeah, I’m trying to find, uh, well, let me see…”Chateau stammered.
