"You know him?" Carl asked.

“Nope,” Lenny replied. “Probably just a salesman."

"Salesmen come all the way out here to the farm before?" Carl asked.

Mrs. Williams shook her head, just as they heard a knock at the door. Lenny answered it with Carl standing right behind him.

"You Leonard Williams?" The man asked.

"That'd be me,” Lenny answered with a smile and reached his hand out for a shake. The man pulled an envelope out of his pocket and placed it in Lenny's hand. "You've been served,” he said, then turned smartly and walked back toward his car.
