Chapter Four

The morning after

Colton

“What are you doing?” Echo asks in a husky tone when my finger caresses the curve of her breast through the thin material.

Turning her around I lift her in the air and set her fine ass on the counter. Her thighs automatically widen to make space for me, and I smirk. She may not be sure what exactly is going on here, but she isn’t pushing me away. I stare at her waiting to hear what she has to say.

“Is this because of my sister? Are you trying to get back at her? Was she right?”

She tries to put on a brave face, but I can see that Sasha’s words have hit their mark. She doubts that I could really be interested in her. But I will do everything I need to do to prove her wrong, to wipe all the doubt Sasha has planted from her mind. Permanently.

I should be offended but I’m not. I know exactly who and what Sasha is, and she has been using her words to tear Echo down for years. She is intimidated by her sister and tries to keep her down in any way she can.

“No Echo. This is about you,” I say with a smile. “I want to get to know you better, not the young woman I left behind but the woman you are now.”

“Colton,” she starts, and I know she is going to recite all the reasons why this is a bad idea.

I know them all by heart. I spent hours last night going through everything, over and over. I just couldn’t find a good enough reason to stay away from her.

So I do the one thing I know will keep her from objecting. I kiss her.

Dear God, was that a mistake. Her taste explodes across my senses, and I know I will never be able to drink a cup of coffee again without thinking of her. Our kiss is how I know she wants me too. Her moan is loud as she allows her lips to open, granting me access while her fingers tangle in my hair.

She kisses me like she is afraid I will stop. I’m afraid I won’t be able to. Already I’m addicted to the little sounds she makes and when I thumb her nipple through the fabric, she makes a soft mewling sound.

I finally stop kissing her to stare at her. “Say yes, Echo. Give me — give us a chance.”

“How am I supposed to think straight when you just kissed me senseless?” she asks, and I can’t help but chuckle at her blatant honesty.

“Babe don’t think. What is your gut telling you?”

She wraps her legs tightly around my waist, cradling my erection against her sex and I want to fall to my knees.

“Yes Colton.”

Echo

He told me not to think and this is me not thinking. I know there are a million reasons why this is a bad idea, but I can’t find it within me to give a shit. I never even dreamed that Colton would want me.
