And here she was, not at a spa, but at the Wellness Center. She’d had a long, hot shower. That in itself had been an experience because she hadn’t realized you had to tell the shower to begin. In truth, you were meant to intend the shower to start and then stop. But it seemed that despite years of meditation, and a magical ancestry, this was not a skill she possessed.

After her shower, she had donned a robe and joined Rumena in the great room. From there, she could choose from various treatments, similar to those you would find in a spa on Earth, except all the products were sourced from the island. Not creams and potions made from ingredients, but actual mud from the waterfall, mineral water from a cave, fruit nectar, and flower petals.

This was her reward for completing the first two installments of the Summer Program. She felt fortunate—Lola and Devlin had to actually cram five years’ worth of information into two weeks, without the experience. They must have had so many questions! She was happy now she hadn’t pestered Rumena with endless questions on her way to the Knowledge Center, for all had been answered.

This is the good life. I wonder why I don’t do more of this at home. The High Elves looked fantastic and enjoyed long, happy, and healthy lives. And this was apparently part of their routine. She would add more self-care activities to her own—beyond yoga, meditation, and getting her hair and nails done.

After the mud bath, she showered and was treated to a full body scrub and then a massage. She couldn’t wait to hear what the others had done with their day.
