CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

Mason

I snarled, pushing everything off my desk. My heart beat in my chest furiously, and my wolf was so angered he was ready to tear anything that dared stand in his way.

“Mason, calm down. We’ll find her. This isn’t the time to let your wolf out, ok?” Ryker’s voice came through the phone line, and I shook my head.

“Don’t tell me to calm down,” I growled out, reaching over to end the call.

“Mason,” The soft voice spoke up, and I looked over at Scarlett.

“If there is one thing I know about Octavia, it’s that she is a fighter. We will find her.” She encouraged, and Christian nodded, putting his arm around her.

“I promise. We won’t stop until she is back in your arms.” Christian added.

I had called everyone here the moment I knew she was missing. Jackson and Christian could make it, but Ryker said he was dealing with some stuff and would only be able to make the conference call, to which he was no help.

I looked to Jackson, who looked in thought before he asked, “Where was she taken from?”

“Our bedroom, I believe. Why?”

He stood from the couch. “Take me there.” I was quick to nod, leading him out of my office and down the hall. Once we walked in, he started looking over my room.

“Let him work, Mason.” Christian rested a hand on my shoulder, holding me back from entering as Jackson crouched down near the bed.

“She was knocked out with a drug. Probably chloroform. You can pick up that dense but sweet smell it carries right by the bed. There are minor scuff marks on the floor from the attacker’s shoes. She put up a fight.” Jackson said before making his way back over to us.

“You think so?”

“I know so. I need to go to your office and be alone, so I can think. I need to lay out possible places they could take her. Get someone to give me a map of your pack. This wasn’t an outside job. She could still be in your pack. I looked at the gates before I came in—I even looked at the visitor logs. Those gates were closed around the time before she was taken and all the way up until we showed. They couldn’t have malfunctioned nor been broken through. Perimeters have certain alarms for prisoners escaping we made a while back.”

“I know, but those traps that were—”

“Trust me. It would have gone off the moment someone stepped over the line. Only me and you know about that, and I know it works because I designed it. She’s still in the pack. They’re just waiting for the right time to get her out. That is most likely the case. They want you to think she’s outside of the pack.” He went to walk off but stopped, turning his head to the side. “You have a traitor amongst you. Think wisely before you talk to your people.” He added and left.

I stood shocked at his words.
