Baptista returned to his study, where Gremio and Tranio were waiting.

“Bianca’s happiness and comfort concern me most,” he said to them. “For that reason, if you can prove your father is as wealthy as you claim, Lucentio, Bianca will be your wife.”

Tranio bowed. “Thank you, sir,” he said.
