One time, King Ermentrik was riding to hunt deer, and his youngest son, Samson, was with him. Seveke was very upset. The king asked what was wrong with him.
Seveke answered: “I am ashamed. Your son Samson wanted to rape my daughter.”
Then the king became angry. He rode after Samson and grabbed his hair so that he fell off his horse. Then the king’s horse trampled him to death. The king rode home, and then he heard that his son Regbald had drowned.

Seveke’s wife went to the queen, and said to her: “Hertig Åke’s sons, the king’s kinsmen, have said that one of them will lay you down and have his way with you.” The queen became angry at that, and complained about it to the king, that his brother’s son wanted to bring her shame.
The king was very angry, and said: “If you will not have peace from them then they will not have peace from me. I will find them at once and hang them both.”
Then one of their men answered: “If their stepfather, Wideke Welandsson, was at home, then I expect that before they could be hanged there would be many helmets cleaved and much blood spilt. They will pay for it, that he is not at home.”
The king answered: “They will not get much help from you, even though you are their man.”
That man was called Fritilia. He got onto his horse at once and wanted to warn them.
