Akhmed was running late. There had been an accident on the way to the heliport and then the security checks had taken forever. When he finally got through the gate he gunned it. He raced towards the helicopter and braked hard. With screeching tires he stopped beside the helicopter.

“Sorry! Sorry!” he shouted as he threw the door open and ran towards the back of the van.

The pilot walked after him and rubbed his beard. He threw down his smoke and stamped it out. “Security checks?”

“Yeah.”

Akhmed began to roll out the first crate with equipment. The pilot stopped him.

“I know how stressful it can be that can be. Why don't you go to the terminal and buy a cup of coffee? I'll do the loading.”

Akhmed jumped on the offer, even though he knew he should stay with the gear. But he trusted the pilot would not damage the gear. It was expensive gear and he would not risk breaking it. He walked down to the terminal, occasionally looking back at the pilot. But the pilot was just loading the gear. He was wheeling the crates out of the van and into the helicopter. Then Akhmed walked into the terminal and out of sight.

As soon as Akhmed walked into the terminal building, another van drove up to the helicopter. A man jumped out and opened the back doors. They began loading crates into the helicopter as quickly as they could and then took the crates from Akhmed's van which they loaded into their own. As quickly as the van had come, it left again.

Akhmed returned with two cups of coffee in hand. He figured the pilot deserved a coffee as well. Just to be safe he had taken some milks and sugars with him, in case the pilot preferred his coffee with either or both.

“All done already?” he asked, surprised the loading was already done. “You work fast.”

“Yeah, I can. Don't do it too often though. But come on, we're in a hurry.”

The pilot opened the door and stepped into his seat. Akhmed held up the second cup.

“Got you a coffee. Thanks for the help.”

“No worries. Thanks though!” The pilot took the cup of coffee and placed it in the cup holder he was lucky to have beside his seat. “Coming?”

“Yeah.”

Akhmed walked around and opened the door in the middle of the cargo helicopter. He got on board and strapped himself in and listened to the pilot talk to air traffic control. He heard and felt the engine springing to life and the whirring and whizzing of the rotors. And then there was a feeling in his stomach that told him he was becoming airborne. And he felt relieved. He was under way and the plan was working out.
