Hosts are Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler. This show follows the Fully Loaded PPV, which featured two great main events in Triple H vs. Chris Jericho, and The Rock vs. Chris Benoit.

Promo Time: Mick Foley

Mick was worried about Fully Loaded because he wanted his first PPV as Commissioner to be worth the price. Mick puts over Rikishi for hitting a dive off the cage, at 425lbs. “I don’t know if Kurt’s common sense got lost in his neck”, he says, as apparently Angle has demanded a rematch with The Undertaker tonight. Foley likes the idea of Angle getting his ass kicked, “Right here… in Austin, Texas”, so that’s booked. Foley stops off to put over the performances last night, which is nice of him but somewhat unnecessary. Mick calls the main event’s outcome “controversial”, as Benoit was, at one point, named the champion. This brings out the Crippler and Shane O’ Mac. Benoit is majorly pissed off and calls Foley a “fraud”. Shane points out that, regardless of who’s in charge, the referee’s decision is always final, and Earl Hebner named Benoit as winner and new champion. “Things change,” says Mick, before referencing the downward spiral of Vanilla Ice’s career, and Vince’s permanent toupee hairstyle. “Which will remain after all of us are long gone”. Benoit demands another title match tonight and fixes to kick Foley’s ass when he doesn’t get it. This brings out Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley to try and coerce Mick into booking Rock-Benoit tonight. When Mick started taking over on “opening promo” duty it improved them, but now they’re just getting longer and longer with everyone wanting the chance to yack it up. Mick berates Steph’s appearance, so she slaps him. Mick promptly books Shane and Steph against two opponents of his choosing. If anyone interferes, Mick fires everyone. Another rambling twenty minute opening promo, barely held together by Mick Foley. McMahons should be limited to single sentence ripostes on the show.
