tip: For tall, curvy girls I always take a look in the men’s department. Stay clear of anything oversized and baggy, however. Look for sweaters and shirts that have a tapered cut. They’ll give you a skimming look with pants or a pencil skirt and heels. One of the many dirty little secrets of ready-to-wear is that men’s collections are less expensive and often better made than women’s wear. At the designer level, Helmut Lang, YSL, Gucci, Prada, and Marc Jacobs are all lines to look through for shirts and sweaters in solid, seasonal trend colors. Club Monaco, Zara. H&M, and Express are always worth a look for their interpretations of the expensive labels listed earlier.
