Lymphangioma

A collection of lymphatic channel elements analogous to a capillary hemangioma.

Signs and Symptoms. Typically present at birth and may demonstrate slow growth. Patients may present with the finding of an edematous patch of cysts on the conjunctiva or may present because of growth of the lesion with a systemic condition such as an upper respiratory infection. Intralesional hemorrhage may result in the appearance of rapid growth and gives a classic “chocolate cyst” appearance to the lesion.
