“Almost four weeks,” Pete answered. “We’ve all worked tirelessly to arrange your release.”

“Yes, I’m sure you all did your best,” he said, “however, it took my hunger strike to finally get someone’s attention.”

“Well, be that as it may,” Mills replied, “the main thing is to get you home now. Are you ready?”

On the journey back to Forest Hills, Theo drove, and Reich sat in the back seat, behind Ilse.

“That settles it,” Reich said. “People will have to understand that I must move to Orgonon immediately. I can’t be expected to undergo this persecution. If the New School suffers damages, let them take it up with the higs of the FBI!”
