Chapter Seven

From her window, Sasha watched the snow falling. She loved the snow, even though it was bitterly cold for her. Loved the pure white look on the ground and how fresh the air smelled. But her enjoyment slipped away when she saw a figure running away from the house towards the woods. At this time of the morning, and with the temperature dropping as fast as it was, no one should be outside.

Straining to make out who it was, Sasha gasped and covered her mouth with her hand.

Jada!

She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. A major storm was coming and Jada was out in it. With the temperature dropping so fast, and the snow thickening to a point that one couldn’t see a hand in front of their face, Sasha didn’t understand why Jada would try to go out in it.

“Oh, God!” she gasped.

She pushed away from the window and ran from the room. Sasha knew that Kane spent the night with Jada. But she didn’t hear anything, so she wasn’t completely sure if they had fought again or not.

She barged into the room, making so much nose that Kane jumped up. When he saw her he quickly covered himself up and looked around the room.

“She’s outside,” Sasha rushed to say. When Kane frowned she quickly went on, “Jada. I just saw her outside and the snow storm has hit.”

“Shit!” Kane stood up with the blanket wrapped around his waist.

“Turn around.”

Sasha did and bit her lower lip. “The snow is bad, Kane. It was getting real bad while you two were sleeping. Cole called Drake and told him that it was going to be real bad this time.” She turned back around when she heard him zip his jeans up. “She can’t be out there.

She’ll die! And why would she leave when the full moon is tonight.

Isn’t she going to help you with it?”

Kane grabbed hold of her arms, stopping her from panicking.

“Calm down. I’ll find her.”

Sasha nodded and took a few deep breaths.

“Now, which way did she head?”

She licked her lips. “She headed for the woods.”

“Okay. Go wake Drake up and tell him. Also let him know that I’m going to take her back to my place since she is already in the woods, and like you said the moon is tonight. Tell him I’ll call him with the phone he gave me once I get there.” She nodded again and he kissed her on the top of her head. “Don’t worry. I’ll find her before anything happens.”

* * * *

Like Sasha said, the storm was coming in hard, fast and thick with the wind blowing the white shit in his face. Seeing anything in front of him was almost impossible and by the time he reached the edge of the woods he was shaking from the cold temperatures. But the cold did little to ease his anger at her trying to leave again, or the burn from his upcoming heat.

“Jada!” Kane yelled against the wind and the thick snow.
