Chapter 3

Just past four in the afternoon, the cable news is just telling the same shit over and over that they had reported earlier in the morning. A world full of events out of everyone's control, "What can you do?" Mumbles Lisa as she clicks off the TV.

Her lunch wine buzz is nothing more than a bad taste and numb head now that she's back home. She lounges around bottomless in a long cotton tee shirt that cuts mid-thigh. Her dark nipples and reddish-brown pubic hair mounds beneath the cotton and forms dark spots in the pastel-colored shirt. Lisa looks good in anything she wears.

A late afternoon sun shoots chards of bright light bouncing off the surface of the pool.

Lisa opens the sliding door, lifts the tee over her shoulders and feels the sun warm her skin. She dives headfirst in the deep end and swims beneath the surface to the other side. The side where the outdoor spa can shoot bubbles up six to eight people's ass. She enjoys her nice digs and only wishes Al could have turned out to be the package promised back in school.

Lisa enjoys the pool, feeling the water run over her for the next twenty minutes.

She loves swimming naked.

Her eyes close as she feels the pool jets shoot a stream between her legs.

She moves her pelvis back and forth against the flow as her head rests on her forearms draped over the edge of the pool.

The alarm sound on her text rings.

She lets the thing ring three more times, "Shit."

Lisa gets out and walks naked to the patio table to check the message and reads: 'Be home late. Don't wait up.'

She shuts off the phone.

About fifteen minutes later, she has put the tee back on and refreshes her buzz with a glass of Chardonnay at the kitchen bar. The land line rings, "Hello."

"Lisa, this is Wanda at the office."

"Wanda. Funny you should call. A friend and I at lunch spoke of you."

"All good I'm sure," Wanda says.

"Maybe you and I should grab lunch. Maybe next week?"

"I'd like that," she answers. "Al left and I need a document for a shipment coming in. Sometimes Al leaves these things on his home desktop and forgets to email them to me. Could you check, please?"

Lisa agrees and makes her way into Al's office. She sits her naked bottom in his leather chair and picks up the phone extension. "What am I looking for?"

"Should be something from a Martinelli Import. He should have a folder in his documents. But I know Al is not much with the tech stuff so he could have saved the thing anywhere."

"I'll just do a doc search," says Lisa.

"There it is. Want me to email you?"

They finish the chore and wrap up the talk.

Lisa leans back in Big Al's chair.

She stares at the screen.

On the desktop she sees an icon that says Spy Phone.

"Spy, what the fuck?"

Lisa hits the Icon and sees a playlist that includes today's date. She hits the 'Play Now' icon.
