“Couldn’t get enough of me, huh?” Bamera said as I walked by her shop.

I shot her a grin and pointed to Lady Natalia’s. She made a shooing gesture as she lit a cigarette.

“Oh hey, thank you for finding those green coffee beans. I just thought about that. June said you sourced them for her?”

“I did,” she said, “but they weren’t special order. I already had a couple of bags I asked Matthew to bring over. Did you roast them up and try them?”

“I did,” I told her. “Actually, June did, but they’re amazing.”

“That’s good. Since those are green coffee beans you should be able to get some of them to germinate, especially with Ryoko’s help.”

“Yeah, she’s a druid. Kind of a weird class for someone who grew up underground, right?”

“Depends. She might have been able to attend to underground gardens, but remember… druids do more than grow plants.”

“Yeah. She’s a level 12 already. Do you figure she leveled up from fighting?” I asked her.

“Yup. Same way Emmy is a level three now, from fighting mice and small creatures. She’s probably supplementing her own food that way, too.”

I nodded. “I’ll be honest, if I can figure out how to grow coffee, I might set aside this necromancy business and become a farmer. Can you imagine getting this realm hooked on a caffeine source other than tea?” I asked, changing the subject.

“You? A farmer?” She chuckled. “You have business at the potion shop, and my smoke break is over. Tell your pretty girlfriend I might stop out tomorrow, if that’s ok.”

“Ok, I will, and like I said earlier, you’re welcome anytime. I owe you anyways,” I said with a grin.

“Get out of here, or I’ll start making up stories about you,” she said.

I walked away trying not to laugh. For a succubus who fed on energy, emotions and, I supposed, sex, she was awful touchy sometimes when talking about feelings. She gave me a small wave as I headed into the potions and apothecary shop.

“Hello sir, how might I help… oh,” the apprentice said as I walked in with my guards.

“Good afternoon,” I said. “Is Lady Natalia in class today?”

“Actually, she’s turned some of the general teaching over to Emelia, so she could work with apprentices for more one on one.”

“I see. Is she available for a few moments?”

“I can ask,” she said, and disappeared into the back.

It didn’t take long until the gnome potions master made her way from the back.

“Morgan, how are you dear?” she asked sweetly.

“I’m doing great. I was wondering… um…”

“You look like this could be a cup of tea type of discussion, huh?”

“It might?” I said, suddenly nervous.

While I had been practicing my potion making, I sold things to the shop here wholesale. Not really to make money, but to at least do something to fund my glassware that was necessary in this profession. Now, I was bringing one of the books Abagail had written, for her to give me her opinion. I was nervous all of a sudden.
