Pulling out the last sheet of A4 from her portable Remington, Angie placed it neatly on the pile of papers on the kitchen table and stood up. "All done," she sighed happily, filling the kettle. She hadn't many details as to the running of the scandalous sex-ward but her story was certainly enough to expose Chris and his degenerate colleagues. She realized that the photographs would have to be censored, but the faces of the guilty would still be clearly visible.

As the front doorbell rang, she covered her evidence with a tea towel and dashed through the hall. "Can I help you?" she asked the wholesome-looking young man as she opened the door.

"Roberts - Andy Roberts," he smiled, holding his hand out. "I'm a freelance journalist and I've heard that you're onto a Doctor Chris Martin."

"Well, yes I am, but..."

"I thought we could share the info we both have - work together on this one - help each other."

"I don't know if I need your help. Look, come in and have a coffee and we'll talk about it. My name's Angie, by the way."

"Yes, I know," he smiled as he stepped into the hall.

Surveying her visitor, his clean white shirt and tight blue jeans, as he sat at the kitchen table, Angie grabbed her copy and placed it in a drawer. With well-groomed black hair and a tanned, rugged face he was quite handsome. Probably in his late twenties, she surmised as she caught his dark eyes and smiled.

"Sugar?" she asked, turning to pour the coffee.

"Two, please. So, what have you come up with so far?"

"I... I've already written the story. All I have to do now is sell it - which won't be a problem. Before I say anything, what do you know about Doctor Chris Martin and the sex-ward?" she asked, passing him a cup.

"Well, the ward's been running for about a year now. Basically, it's a brothel," he laughed. "Men visit the place, men in high places, from what I gather."

"Is that all you've got?"

"No. The members pay annual fees, although I'm not sure how much. There are several nurses in on the operation, too. There's whipping, bondage..."

"Have you been to the ward?" Angie interrupted as she sat opposite him.

"No, I haven't, but I know where it is."

Angie was aware of being over-cautious, but she daren't trust anyone. Andy seemed genuine enough but, there again, he could have been sent by Chris to retrieve the photographs. Did he look like a journalist? What did journalists look like, anyway?

"I only wish I had some photographic evidence," she sighed, watching him closely for a reaction.

"That would be ideal. Is there a way you could get pictures of...?"

"Hardly. Not unless I go to the ward and ask them to pose for me. Do you know who the men are who visit the ward?"

"Some of them, yes. There are a couple of MPs, solicitors, coppers..."

"Yes, but do you have names?"

"A few. Now tell me what you know."

"Well, you've not told me anything that I didn't know already.
