The men had been gone about an hour when Savannah pried the truth out of Jenny about her night with Shane. As expected, Savannah wasn’t the least bit surprised. In fact, she smiled bigger than she had all day.

Jenny pushed off the sofa and added more logs to the dying fire. She hadn’t told her friend all the details, most specifically that they hadn’t used protection—not that she expected a lecture on safe sex, but more because of her worry over being a little late. There was no point making an issue out of that till she had time to buy a test kit. Besides, by the time she got to the store, there probably wouldn’t be a need to buy one.

“I don’t think you have to worry about Shane forgiving you,” Savannah said when Jenny sat back down. “I’ve seen him looking at you the last couple days. I think he’s smitten.”

Jenny laughed. “Smitten? Sounds like something Hannah would say.” She stood again and placed their empty mugs on the tray, suddenly feeling very antsy. “Want a refill?”

“Sure,” Savannah said, grinning at her.

“Think I’ll look in on Hannah and see if she wants some, too. Take a nap or something. Rest that overactive imagination of yours.”

Savannah giggled, then pushed hard on the arms of the chair with a grunt. “Think I’d better take a potty break instead.”
