BATHROOM CLEANERS

Confession: I don’t always practice what I preach. I love the idea of simple, natural cleaning products, especially ones I can make myself, and have used them in most rooms of my house for some time. But never in the bathroom. The bathroom is a different story entirely. The bathroom is like another universe, where “dirty” means something else. The bathroom is, well . . . it’s gross! So, for a very long time, I was addicted to chemical-laden cleaning products that could transform a nasty, germ-ridden bathroom into a disinfected, sparkling, lemon-scented retreat. I knew that what I was using probably wasn’t safe for my family or the environment, but I’m ashamed to admit that I didn’t care, because I wanted it Clean with a capital C. Then we moved into a house with extremely hard water that left ugly, impossible-to-remove stains on our beautiful glass shower door. I scrubbed the heck out of that door and tried tons of products, one of which you can learn all about from a late-night infomercial. Nothing worked. Nothing, that is, except for baking soda, which worked like a charm on the first try. From that moment I was sold on its power to clean absolutely ANYTHING, including the bathroom. Toilet Cleaner

For 1 use

1 cup baking soda

Distilled white vinegar

Sprinkle the toilet with 1 cup of baking soda.

Let it sit for 30 minutes, then spray or squirt with enough vinegar to moisten.

Scrub with a toilet brush, then flush.
