By now, everyone else had left the classroom. Both the students and teacher were gone, leaving Olivia and Dylan alone. She watched as this boy got dressed. He took his time, probably because he had exhausted himself, straining his muscles.

"How do you feel?"

"Humiliated," he said. "Angry."

"And?"

"Humiliated and angry, Miss," he said with a sneer.

Olivia chuckled. "No, silly. That's not what I meant. What else are you feeling?"

His lips parted with an automatic answer, only then he stopped himself from making another mistake.

They were alone now, and this girl still enticed him. She could see that every time he glanced back in her direction.

In other cultures, boys could be mysterious and difficult to read. Girls and young women spent countless hours wondering what the objects of their affection might be doing or thinking or what they "really meant". After so many classes in male psychology, not to mention boy training and discipline, Olivia enjoyed an easy confidence when it came to this young man. He wished he could rage. He wanted to throw a tantrum, to run up and kick or punch a wall. He needed to break something. The frustrations surged through his frame, but she still wouldn't let him relax.

"Tell me," she said. "You can do it. It's not hard. You can trust me."

He began to turn away, but now he spun back to face her as he demanded, "Trust you? Seriously?"

"Why not?" Olivia asked, sounding genuinely curious.

The boy’s eyes widened, like he couldn't believe that she had the gall or temerity to voice such a question. Still, the brown-haired boy continued to watch him with those big, seemingly innocent eyes. In that moment, she may have been able to read his expressions, yet he couldn't do the same. The confusion flickered along his lips and up to his eyes for the next moment or two.

"You're trying to train me. You’re trying to break me!"

"Yes," she said. "I'm trying to break you of some pretty bad habits. And yes, I will punish you when it’s necessary, but I'm doing this for your own good."

When she stepped up to him him, taking one smooth stride after another, Dylan didn't turn away. She reached up, and she adjusted the collar on his shirt. Then her fingers pressed down against his chest, gliding along his body. At that instant, he stopped breathing, and he froze in position.

"You're just messing with me now," he said, sharpening those words into an accusation. "You don't really care about me."

"That's not true," she said. She looked at him, and she said, "I care about you a lot. In fact, I think you are a very sweet, very handsome boy. And I'm having a lot of fun with you."

"Exactly," he shot back at her. "You're having fun with me, like I'm a toy!"

Olivia wobbled her head from side to side like she was considering that point. "Toy? Boy? Is there really that much difference?" As he tried to stammer out an answer, she chuckled, reached up, and touched a finger to his lips.
