Now you want to make your door using that part you took off.

Fit the door part to the now open end space. It should fit so it will move easily even after it swells from water.

You could make you a hinge by placing a nail through each side of the box and into the door part up near the top of the door piece. Put in a nail on each side of the door piece and you have pivot points for the door to swing in and out. You would drill holes in the side pieces a little large than the nail so the pivots are free to swing!
