"We've lost camera two," I mentioned as I leaned back in my chair, stretching my legs out in front of me. Lucy and I had just spent the last couple of hours pouring through our EVP recordings.

She glanced at the monitors. "Huh. Where is that one located?"

"The store, I think." I tried to reset the feed, but it came up static.

"I wonder how long it has been down?" she asked idly, her focus drifting back to her work station.

I shrugged, "Not sure. I wasn't really paying attention."

"Did you get anything?" she asked, referring to the EVPs that we had recorded earlier.

"A few things. Nothing remarkable, unfortunately. You?"

She languidly stretched her hands above her head. "About the same. I really thought that we would pick up a lot more." Her lips twisted into a disappointed frown.

"Me too. Oh well, we can try again later. Plus, there's going to be a lot of video footage." I said before contacting Bowen over the headsets, "Hey, man. Camera two is down."

His voice came back strained, "Yeah, I'll fix it in a second."

"Are you guys all right in there?"

"Yeah. We are fine. We will be out shortly."

"Okay." I clicked off the feed. "He sounds stressed or something."

"I didn't notice," Lucy said with a hint of distraction as she stared at one of the monitors.

"What's up with you? Do you see anything out of the ordinary?"

She wet her lips with the tip of her tongue. "The storage room where I had those freaky images of the bar. I keep seeing something darting across the monitor as if it is trying to get my attention. Or, maybe it's just messing with me. I really don't know."

I stared at the monitor she motioned to and watched it for ten minutes straight without seeing anything at all.

She sighed dramatically, "Isn't that how they always freaking do? Like naughty children demanding attention, but when you give it to them, they don't want it. Ugh. Stupid ghosts."

I chuckled, "Stupid ghosts, indeed. I'll take that room for tonight," I decided out loud, looking at Lucy for approval.

Her brows bunched up, "Are you sure? It's pretty active."

"Bowen wants me to, remember? Anyhow, did you forget that we are ghost hunters and that we seek out activity?" I asked in a playful tone.

"Hardy, har, har. No, jerkface, I didn't forget. But I'm sleeping in the van tonight. You'll be all by your lonesome."

"Does this place scare you that much?"

"A little, yeah. It's just too much to deal with at once. If it were one or two entities, I could probably deal with it. But there are quite a few, and it's overwhelming."

I looked at her with sympathy. "I get that. But, I'm not all that sensitive so, I'll probably be oblivious to most of it, anyhow," I said with a dramatic sigh.

She giggled. "Hey, I'll stay with you on the headset until I fall asleep."

"Sounds like a plan." I stood up and stretched. "I'm gonna go and get set up. Are you sure you will be all right out here tonight?"

"Yeah.
