Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all

Practical Version

Determined the best way to make amends to those we had harmed

The only real difference between the classic version of this step and the practical version is that the practical version doesn’t include anything about willingness. For one, we can assume you have some willingness to make amends to the people you’ve harmed, otherwise you wouldn’t be embarking on this process. You may not be willing to make amends to them all yet, and that’s OK. You don’t need to be willing to make amends to everyone in order to make amends to your first person. Start with that, and as you move along in your amends process, you will likely start to let go of any resistance you have to some of your more difficult amends. I’ll address this in the section about step nine.
