Andrew Murray Sr. visits Worcester

During the height of the first wave, Andrew Murray Sr. visited Worcester to experience the revival for himself. Having prayed faithfully for thirty-eight years for his own congregation at Graaff-Reinet to be awakened, it must have been a bitter-sweet experience for him to witness God’s Spirit moving powerfully in the Worcester congregation, while, as yet, there was no stirring of the dry bones in Graaff-Reinet. Nevertheless, he praised God for the opportunity to be present as well as to address the revival meetings. He is recorded as saying: ‘Andrew, my son, I have longed for such times as these which the Lord has let you have.’18
