When you find a relevant tweet, reach out to the person who posted it. Respond to the tweet, offering advice or helpful information. When you’ve started a dialogue, you can move the discussion closer to conversion.

Another effective technique involves using a specialized Twitter Card known as a Lead Generation Card. Twitter created Lead Generation Cards to help companies promote their products, and these cards have proved to be quite effective. As with other Twitter Cards, you can create a richer tweet with an expanded message area and image. When the user clicks to expand the card, he sees not only your message, but also a call to action that enables him to express interest in your brand. If he clicks the call-to-action button (the Click Here button in Figure 11-3), the system captures and passes to you the user’s contact details. Figure 11-3 shows a Twitter Lead Generation Card.
