Cedra crept out of bed and turned off the alarm before it could wake Juliet. She smiled at her lover sleeping and had to restrain a laugh when Juliet rolled over and snuggled into Cedra's pillow. She started the shower and stripped out of her clothes, showering quickly, and dressed before returning to her room for her keys and songbook. Cedra leaned over and planted a soft kiss on Juliet's cheek.

“I love you,” she whispered.

“I love you, too,” Juliet replied but did not stir awake.

Cedra met Ma in the kitchen. “Good morning, Ma.”

“Good morning. Did you sleep well?”

“Yea, I did after we sat up discussing songs for a bit. I think we are down to three, and I want to plug some of Stone's in to fill those slots.”

“That shouldn't be hard to do,” Ma replied. “Do you want anything besides coffee? I'd offer you a brownie, but they got wiped out last night,” Ma said with a soft laugh.

“Imagine that,” Cedra joked. “No, coffee is good. Thanks, Ma.”

“You're welcome. When are you off this week?” Ma asked.

“Tuesday,” Cedra answered. “Do you need something?”

“No, just curious. I know you and Juliet haven't had much time together. I would suggest a date night that doesn't include cafés or music. Maybe dinner and a movie?”

“I think we could handle that. What do you have planned for dinner Thursday?” Cedra asked.

“I was thinking of something simple like spaghetti or something easy. I know you will all be excited to perform that night. I'll get the clothes ready this week.”

“I can help with that,” Cedra offered.

“No need. It'll give me something to do other than a nap,” Ma teased.

“Is there anything you need from town?” Cedra asked as she picked up her travel mug to leave.

“I think we're good for now. I may do some grocery shopping Wednesday,” Ma replied.

“If you need help, drag Juliet along. I think she has this week free before she starts gigging again.”

“Do you think that will change after this weekend?” Ma asked.

“That depends on what Carrie or another agent has to offer. If all goes well, hopefully, we'll be spending more time in a studio somewhere.”

“Will you and Stone continue to work at the Redbird?”

“I don't see that dramatically changing for a while until we get other money coming in,” Cedra replied. “Besides, Lisa Marie gave us jobs when we needed them, and I'd hate to leave her without an opportunity to replace us. I don't see it happening for several months at least, though, unless Carrie does work magic.”

“I could easily see you guys taking off at the start of the year, so maybe she can arrange some studio time for y'all before she starts arranging out-of-town gigs.”

“Yeah, that's only two months away. I think it's possible, though,” Cedra replied. “Only time will tell. I'll see you tonight, Ma.”

“Have a great day, Cedra.”

“You too, Ma.” Cedra collected her things and walked out to the truck. She was surprised to see frost on her windshield, and climbed in to start her engine and let it warm for a minute.
