Create comfort kits or bedtime bags for kids affected by natural disasters or homelessness. These can be reusable tote bags with a small cozy blanket, a book to read, a small stuffed animal, warm socks, and a puzzle or toy that is safe for all ages.

Hold a canned food drive at a grocery store you frequent. Ask the store to put large cardboard boxes out front so people can buy extras to give on the way out. Donate these canned goods to food pantries in your neighborhood.

Hold a “snuggle drive.” Ask friends and neighbors to donate small, new stuffed animals for first responders such as firefighters and police to have handy for children in tough situations.
