Virtual Hosting Example

Virtual hosting was set up to create a website for a client named BaxterCo. First, the desired name of the site was added and mapped to the same IP address as the Atlas Co intranet site. This was done by adding the desired name and the server IP address in the hosts file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc:

In IIS manager for the BaxterCo website the default binding was changed so that more than one site could use the same IP address on port 80. The host for this site points to baxterco.local as set up in the hosts file:
