5. Kneecap

The kneecap (or Patella) is another oft-overlooked target, and yet it forms a vital connection through the stabilization of the whole body. The knee is, of course, designed to bend in one direction, so any sharp application of power against another direction, either backwards or to the side, can quickly remove an opponent’s ability to fight or chase.

Snap kicks and low, side-kicks are most effective for this region.
