“Oh my God,” I said as the waiter put the slice of chocolate cake in front of me. I still didn’t understand why I had even ordered it since there was absolutely no space left in my stomach.

The food had been delicious; the wine that Jared had ordered had been perfect, and even the man himself hadn’t been too bad. After getting over the fact that he had broken my heart, I had started enjoying my night. We had discussed many things but left the past in the past. None of us had referred to it, keeping our conversation about current events only.

“Now you have to eat all of it,” Jared said, leaning back in his chair. He had decided to skip the dessert and was sipping on a cup of coffee instead.

The cake was massive, but I knew I could do it.

“It’s not a problem,” I replied as I started digging in.
