Unfortunately, when I woke up, the image wasn’t as comforting. My eyes fluttered open to an empty bed. I began to lift my head but heard voices coming from the hallway, so I kept my head low. I lifted it slightly and could see the door was slightly open. There were two voices, a man and a woman, and the woman sounded like Emily. I did my best to quiet my breathing and lie still to try and hear what they were saying, but I couldn’t quite catch the words. What was she doing and whom was she talking to?

Just as I was about to get up and see, the hallway went quiet, and I heard footsteps retreating from the door. I pushed myself up and sat up on the bed, about to get up when I heard Emily’s voice.

“White Dove checking in, sir.”

White Dove? What the hell was that? And who was she checking in with?

I quickly lay back down and pretended to be asleep.

“Yes, sir. Yes, subject is still asleep.”

Subject? Did I really know who Emily was?

“Hang on, sir. I need to get to a more secure location.”

Emily came back in the room, still on the phone, and crossed to the sliding doors leading out to the deck. She stopped for a moment to look at me, making sure I was still asleep, and went out onto the small deck off the room, shutting the door behind her. I couldn’t hear her anymore, only the muffled sound of her voice talking in a quiet manner to “sir.”

I checked the clock: 1:45. Sounded like work, but who would she be talking to at work at this time? I decided to get up and make my presence known to her. I got up and stretched like I had just woken, but her back was to the room and she didn’t see me. So I went into the bathroom, turned on the light and flushed the toilet. She would surely hear that. I waited a minute, and I heard the door to the deck open and close.

“Sam?” she asked with an unsure level to her voice.

I left the bathroom rubbing my eyes. I was a great actor. It was the scratching of my ass that sold the act, though.

“Sam, sorry, did I wake you? I just needed some air.” She stood there wearing my black shirt thrown over her like a towel with only one button buttoned near her navel. I could see the valley of her tanned breasts peaking out from the shirt as it hung lazily over them, accentuating the curves in a very seductive way.

It was a very sexy sight to behold. Then I remembered “White Dove,” and my fledgling erection quickly went away.

“Hey, no, I just had to hit the head, that’s all. Who were you talking to?”

“Talking to…” she began slowly.

“Yeah, I saw you on the phone when I got up. And you are holding your phone. Who is up at this hour? Telling your girlfriends of your monumental conquest?” I flashed a sly smile her way.
