Anika chuckled. She typed out her response and then sent another text to Trent telling him she needed access to the training room early in the morning.

Working with a new actress was both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. The relationship between actor and double was just as important as the training. They needed to trust each other and have great communication or none of it would work.

Laura had been working on another film and was unable to start any of the necessary training until that week. Anika had been worried that with only a few weeks to establish a bond and get in sync, it might be very stressful.

But Laura was a pro. She was more committed to learning the stunts than most actors Anika had worked with.

Plus she was a fast learner. That would help with their condensed schedule.

“How’s your sister?”

She glanced up at Steve’s question as he entered the bedroom. She immediately looked back to her phone because oh my God.

Had he gotten hotter in the shower?

His towel-dried hair stuck up in messy twists around his head while his skin and muscles glistened with a new kind of moisture. The towel he’d chosen was thankfully one of the larger ones that Bo had gotten them as a wedding gift. A normal sized bath towel probably wouldn’t be able to encase Steve’s rather tight and defined ass and thighs.

Not that she’d been looking.

He must wear his board shorts obscenely low when he surfs, she thought. Because there was nary the hint of a tan line where the towel rested along his hips. Or maybe he got spray tans. It was too cold to be surfing without a wetsuit.

Wait.

She wasn’t looking at her phone anymore.

Slowly, she raised her eyes to his and found him watching her with a cocky smirk and an arched eyebrow.

Oops.

She smiled, knowing she’d been caught.

“My sister is fine,” she said to answer his question. “And I’m meeting Laura early tomorrow to go over what we worked on today.”

He nodded and headed into their shared closet. The one that was bigger than her last bedroom had been.

“Is that normal? I thought you were the one who had to do the superhero stuff.”

“She has to know how to do it too. She won’t have to do the dangerous stuff unless she wants to, but our movements need to match. It’s sort of like learning a dance routine.”

He grunted.

“How’s your sister?” she asked.

“Which one?”

She chuckled. “The one who we’re going to help move to Utah.”

He returned to their shared room dressed (bummer) in gray sweatpants (yay!) and a white t-shirt. He stopped in the doorway and crossed his arms over his chest. “She’s okay. The stuff with Kevin sucks. But I talked to her yesterday. She’s packed and ready to go. She doesn’t want to drive the kids that far alone so she’s flying out with them tomorrow. The moving company will be there shortly after that.”

“When are we going again?” Anika asked. All her days were mixed up since their own move and her new training schedule.
