Chapter 27
New Roles
Althea slowed down shortly before reaching Glimmervale. Finding a gap between the trees, she slithered through the spaced crowns and wriggled around the thick trunks until she could fully stop. Asterios helped Grea and Tina jump off their draconic friend and the Dragon lady returned to her humanoid form.
âIt would have been so epic if we just flew back there like this,â Grea commented, looking towards the town.
âSome people might think Althea is the source of the commotion and that could cause panic.â Tina chuckled softly.
âOne day,â Asterios said, meeting his mentorâs gentle gaze. âOne step at a time. And we have plenty of them to make. The dungeon couldnât have picked a worse moment to show up.â
His crimson-skinned demon lover groaned. âShit just keeps piling up and up. As if taking over Glimmervale wasnât complex enough already. The following days are going to suck so much.â
âItâs not only days that will.â Tina found Astâs eyes with a clear blush on her sweet cheeks and started walking away.
âDid she justâ¦?â Grea stared between her back and Astâs face with an open mouth.
Asterios snickered under his nose and went after his blue-haired girlfriend while the demon woman tried to fight off her surprise. He caught up to Tina fairly quickly as she wasnât making any effort to escape them and joined her side. She was still rosy after her earlier tease and had some trouble looking up at him.
âHow are you feeling?â He joined their fingers, bringing a tender smile onto her delicate lips.
âTo be honest, I think I need to lean onto you for a moment.â Tina giggled shyly. âI underestimated a little just how much rubbing sudden movements can cause.â
âYou good? Maybe you should take the strap off before it burns you where neither of us would like it to.â Asterios pulled her a bit closer just as she wished.
âEverything is alright. Itâs not exactly that uncomfortable,â she replied, turning even redder. âAnd I canât take it off. Not yet.â
âAlright. Just donât overdo it because of Greaâs silly games.â He leaned to the side and placed a loving kiss on her cheek.
Tina nodded and they entered the town, followed by the other two. Since the streets were mostly empty, it didnât take them long to return to the main square, where the majority of residents and travelers were still located. Thankfully, it looked like the situation was under control and no one was panicking after the tremors had subsided.
Someone spotted them and people parted to make way for him and the ladies. Asterios headed straight for the stage, where the rest of his mates awaited them, along with the rulers and the Committee. He nodded at the group while passing by everyone.
âGreat job,â he said with a smile and stood in the center, turning to the gathered. âThank you everyone for waiting patiently for our return. Iâm glad to see that no one was hurt by the unexpected quake. To shed some light on the rude surprise,
