Quinn heard Aisha exclaim, “It’s working!”

Quinn opened her eyes to see the Song Weaver spiders hard at work. They were speedily weaving four long, silvery strings! She opened up the bag and carefully pulled out the Heartstring Violin.

“Cut the strings!” cried Aria.

Instantly, four spiders whipped out tiny, gleaming scissors and sliced the strings free. They floated into the air.

“No!” cried Mei. “They’re flying away.”

But Quinn could feel a vibration in the wood of the violin. “Don’t worry,” she said. “The violin is calling to the strings. Watch.”

Sure enough, after looping through the air once, the strings began to settle down toward the violin. The vibrations in the violin grew steadily stronger as the four strings came to rest along the neck of the violin. They spread out in order, from thickest to thinnest. Deftly, they wrapped one of their ends around the pegs at the top of the violin and then stretched across the bridge of the instrument and attached themselves firmly to the other end.

The Heartstring Violin felt warm in Quinn’s paws. A melody began to pour out of it. It was Quinn’s tune!

The Song Weavers erupted into spidery cheers.

“It’s fixed!” Aria said happily.

“Yes, thanks to you,” said Quinn.

“We did it together,” said Aria. “Which is how the best music is made.”
