Chapter 517. A Feeble Attempt

Raven spent the next few days attentively listening, observing, and studying everything related to Liuhebafaquan. Fang Zhou was a skilled teacher, and Raven’s Mind Level Three made it easier for him to grasp the principles and techniques of this martial art.

In addition to that, he continued his aura practice, captivating his companions. Unfortunately, the students weren’t advanced enough to fully appreciate the scope of his work and quickly lost interest.

It was only Fang Zhou who observed his attempts closely, maintaining a reverent silence since Raven hadn’t asked for his input.

Despite his efforts, practicing Liuhebafaquan didn’t allow Raven to accumulate more Ether than he gained through meditation in the Inner Temple. Whether it was due to the limited time he’d spent practicing or some other factor, he still achieved the desired effect, just not to the extent he’d hoped.

On the fifth day, he reached such a level of focus during his regular exercises that he became oblivious to the world around him, only snapping back to reality six hours later. That’s when he noticed a subtle change in the Mind Tree. It was so minor that he probably wouldn’t have detected it if he still had Mind Level One. Upon closer inspection, he realized that the Tree’s Ether-absorbing roots had thickened slightly, indicating he’d be absorbing more Ether at a time.

“As I mentioned before, one of the main goals of Liuhebafaquan is to lay a foundation,” Fang Zhou said after Raven informed him of the change. “That could explain what you’re observing. A tree’s foundation is its roots. I can’t say for sure, as I haven’t reached the mind level you mentioned. When I do, we can revisit this discussion. For now, I’d recommend you keep practicing. You’re already making progress. It could be a coincidence, but if you notice more changes, that’s progression.”

Raven nodded. “I had the same thought.”

Checking the time, he saw it was time to start his sugar exercise. He’d made some progress there too, but nothing noteworthy.

As he was about to take his usual spot, something at the edge of his vision caught his attention. Looking up, he saw a strange player approaching.

Instantly drawing his daggers, he scanned the area to ensure the stranger was alone. Then he heard his name.

“Raven! I’m from Godlike.”

Ah. Is this what I think it is?

He was prepared to kill the messenger if his suspicion proved true. However, he decided not to act hastily. “I’m all ears.”

“I have part of the crystals.”

So it’s the crystals. Is he mocking me? How many did he send? One or two?

“How much?”

“Two hundred from Zone One and one hundred and fifty from Zone Two.”

WTF?!

Such unexpected generosity from Godlike was hard to believe; he had to verify it. Sheathing his daggers, he extended his hand. The messenger handed him two small, identical chests, one after the other.

Collected:

Small Chest of Crystals х2.

After counting the crystals in front of the messenger, Raven stowed the boxes in his inventory and asked, “Is that all?”

“Yes.” The player simply turned and walked away, leaving Raven deep in thought.
