How and Where to Look to Find Deals

Even if you don’t have or need a budget because you are fortunate enough to be financially secure, you should still get in the habit of looking for good deals. It'll prove invaluable if things go south and your money isn't worth what it once was.

Sales, closeouts, yard sales and even auctions are all viable places where you can get everything you need, both in regular life and for prepping purposes. In this day and age of Google and eBay, Craigslist and Amazon, it shouldn't be that difficult to come across even an obscure item that you have on your acquisition list.

While you could theoretically get everything you need from the Internet, you should consider branching out so you can meet new people. Someone you meet on Craigslist, for example, could end up offering an invaluable insight or resource towards your overall plan. People you meet could also wind up being points of contact in an emergency, or serve as bartering buddies. Who you know can be just as important as what you know, and in some cases, better than what you have on hand.
